Paula Radcliffe an asthmatic herself raises money for Asthma UK in TV competition
Paula Radcliffe, world marathon guardian, proved that she’s not just a prominent on the track when she won £16,000 for Asthma UK on Who Wants to be a Millionaire? last week.
In a celebratory Olympic edition of the ITV quiz, Paula and love athlete Jonathan Edwards together notched up an amazing £64,000 - only four questions away from the £1 million jackpot.
Half of all the premium boodle from the upstage went to the British Olympic Association, while guests nominated their own charities for the remainder of their winnings.
Paula, who has asthma herself, chose to support Asthma UK, with a donation that make pelf vital inquiry to help the 5.1 million people in Britain who have the condition.
Paula and Jonathan demonstrated their hold of a candid range of subjects, knowing that a half-tester is a bed and being able to correctly identify the breed of Geri Halliwell’s dog (Shih-tzu).
After using all their lifelines - and a couple of inspired guesses - they decided to call it a day rather than risk their £64,000 when asked to name the provinces lying to the east of Ukraine. Although, as proprietor Chris Tarrant was characteristically keen to point off, had they gone with their instincts (Russia) they would have doubled their bundle!
